I'm Debabrata,
nice to meet you.

I am a pre-final year design undergrad at National Institute of Technology Rourkela. Currently, I'm exploring the various domains of design in a quest to find my niche.

I believe that designs must speak for themselves, and try to inculcate this in all my designs. I am an amateur cinematographer and am an avid sci-fi reader too. I also love quizzing and am up for a Table Tennis match anytime!

How I got started in user research

My freshman year had common subjects for all engineering branches and so I was oblivious to UX and User Research back then. It was only after my freshman year that I was introduced to User Research when I interned at IIT Roorkee.

It was a research project on 'Imageability of Urban Areas' under the supervision of Prof. Saptarshi Kolay at the Department of Planning and Architecture, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

What I've been working on

I have worked on a couple of research projects involving both User Research and UX Design. My second project was an on-field user research project at the Department of Humanities, IIT Bhubaneswar.

I've also been a Visual Design Intern at Department of Design, IIT Hyderabad wherein I worked on a graphic poem named Blot. I was the Design Team manager of NIT Rourkela's annual tech-fest Innovision and am currently a designer in the Institute Counseling Services, NIT Rourkela

What I'm curious about

I am curious to explore how design can impact people's lives and improve the way they interact with technology. I want to explore novel interfaces and how they can be used in the contemporary world.

I am also interested in researching about people's perception and how it can be made better with design interventions.
